Modeling

Modeling

Scale models can be brought to the site to help visualize how the actual home will respond to the actual site. They are also very useful for learning how light will interact both inside and outside the house for any time of the day and of the year. Furthermore, looking down into a model with the roof off allows for a greater understanding of how spaces relate to each other. This is particularly helpful if there are lofts or an open plan. Photographs of models are remarkably similar to the actual house. I like to place a model in front of the camera with the building site in the background to simulate how the end product will appear where the house will rest.
