About the owner
Sole proprietor, Todd Harris, first began working in the construction field in 1982 at age 17. Following four years studying Industrial Technology and psychology at California State University, Chico, he attended the Schools of Architecture and psychology at the University of Oregon, Eugene. After running a construction business in Eugene, he joined the United States Peace Corps to teach Kenyans how to build rain-water catchment and storage systems. Three years later he found himself traveling throughout Sub-Saharan Africa processing refugees for a United States refugee resettlement program. He then returned to his home town of Chico, CA where he studied for, and worked as, a building inspector.
He soon returned to his passion of designing and building houses. In 2002 he designed and built a house for his new family. At that time, it was only the second house in Butte County built using Structural Insulated Panels (SIP's). He and his wife were so impressed with how little energy it took to heat and cool the house that Todd decided that he would only build using SIP's from then on. "It is my goal to provide each client with a home that best meets their needs as energy efficiently as possible".
